Brendan Graeber and Matt Kim went hands-on with Project Resistance, a new 4v1 multiplayer Resident Evil game. They discuss how the game plays, how it’s different from other Resident Evil games, and whether it’s fun to play.
The game is set during the 1998 Raccoon City Destruction Incident. Based on the 2019 teaser, a group of four civilian survivors explore an Umbrella USA B.O.W. testing lab, and are being put at risk by an Umbrella employee using the facility’s security measures against them.
This game looks to have aspects similar to Left 4 Dead and the recently released World War Z. It appears to rely heavily on survival tactics, as players will need weapons to fend off hordes of classic Resident Evil enemies.
Resident Evil: Project Resistance doesn’t have a release date at the moment, but it’s reportedly due in 2020. It will release for PC via Steam, as well as Xbox One and PlayStation 4. More details are expected later this week during the Tokyo Game Show.
