Kojima Productions has released a “briefing trailer” for Death Stranding during Tokyo Game Show 2019 (which was originally shown during Gamescom), with the trailer showing about 7 and a half minutes of new footage from the upcoming game. Specifically, the footage focuses on Sam Bridges, the main protagonist played by Norman Reedus, and also features Amelie (played by Lindsay Wagner, voiced by Emily O’Brien) and Die-Hardman (Tommie Earl Jenkins).
With its release, Kojima explained that viewers should watch the briefing trailer ahead of the upcoming new gameplay footage at Tokyo Game Show 2019 to give players a bit more context to what they will see and be doing in-game. Specifically, Kojima explained that the briefing trailer will let viewers “understand Sam’s purpose in the game,” while during the on-stage gameplay presentation, Kojima will “introduce how the gameplay works and how Sam (the player) connects the world” around him.
Given the small glimpses that we’ve seen of Death Stranding gameplay-wise, the briefing trailer and upcoming TGS gameplay demo should shed a whole lot of lot on how Death Stranding plays, and hopefully will unwrap more of the game’s intriguing premise before it arrives in just a few more weeks.
Death Stranding will release for PS4 on November 8, 2019, and you can pre-order the game now over on Amazon. In the meantime until its release, you can check out the briefing trailer below:
