We got some great new tunes hitting the music streaming services today!! All of these picks and more can now be streamed on Apple Music and Spotify.
“LOVER” and “ARCHER” (singles) Taylor Swift
Swift decided to drop not just one, but two new singles on fans for their weekend listening pleasure. “Lover” which is the fourth that the singer has released off her upcoming seventh album of the same name, features such romantic lyrics as “My heart’s been borrowed and yours has been blue / All’s well that ends well to end up with you.” The other track, “Archer” is a pared-down track and another Antonoff collaboration.
Slide Away (single) Miley Cyrus
After one a mere few days after her very public breakup with actor Liam Hemsworth, Miley has released her newest heartbreaking single. Seemingly opening up in the lyrics about her split, “Once upon a time it was made for us, woke up one day and it turned to dust,” Cyrus continues. “Baby, we were found, but now we’re lost / So it’s time to let it go.” Multiple sources described the relationship as unhealthy and that a breakup was the best thing that could happen for the two.
Rock Bottom (single) grandson
The song is about exactly what the title suggests. The disgusting feeling of hitting rock bottom and wonder what’s next. ‘Rock Bottom‘ marks the first new music from Grandson since the release of his ‘A Modern Tragedy, Vol. 2‘ in February this year.
Highwomen (single) The Highwomen
The Highwaymen had “Highwayman,” a song about outlaws sung by the outlaws of country music. Nelson, Cash, Jennings, and Kristofferson. Each one had a verse about a man doing their various occupations but all wishing for the day they could be highwaymen again. So when you’ve got a band featuring Brandi Carlile, Maren Morris, Amanda Shires, and Natalie Hemby called The Highwomen you change up the narrative and change the stories from men to women. It might be gimmicky but it still sounds pretty damn cool!
Heartless (single) Thomas Wesley
World traveling DJ, Diplo, presents Thomas Wesley “Heartless,” a guitar-laden trap-tune featuring unlucky-in-love lyrics from Morgan Wallen. It’s a song that will get stuck in your head as you down a beer while laying out by the pool.
Atonement – Killswitch Engage
Atonement is the eighth studio album by American metalcore band Killswitch Engage, and the band literally unleash all the fury and emotion on this album. Atonement was thus described as a “reflection of perseverance and passion through the trials and suffering of our existence” by the band, and by Leach as “musically the most diverse record we’ve done as a band.” Stand out tracks include “Unleashed,” “The Signal Fire,” and “I Am Broken Too.“
