The Justice Society Returns To DC Comics This Fall

Don’t call it a come back. Because technically they never left. The New 52 introduced an alternate Justice Society but it never garnered the same fanfare as the classic incarnation.

The classic WWII era superteam will return in Scott Snyder’s Justice League this fall, and are on the cover for September’s Justice League #31.

“I can’t tell you how honored and thrilled I am to be able to reintroduce them to mainline continuity,” Snyder tells Newsarama. “I’ve been waiting to do it for months and months and months and months and months – really, since we did Metal. I have really big plans for them. I mean, they play a really crucial role in this story.”

The OG Justice Society made a return in Geoff John’s Doomsday Clock. They had been erased in the timeline by Watchmen’s Doctor Manhattan, drastically altering the DCU and creating the New 52.

In other words, it looks like DC is undoing everything they tried to change after Flashpoint.

But hey, at least we got our Justice Society back…
