Sonic The Hedgehog Is Getting A Serious Redesign After Horrifying Trailer Debut

Yikes. The Sonic The Hedgehog film released its trailer and fans unanimously panned it for its horrendous design of the title character. I mean just look at this thing:

What the hell is that blue nightmare?!? When kids say the character they are supposed to be rooting for is “ugly,” there’s a problem. This simply will not do for the biggest video game mascot next to Mario.

Something the film does have going for it is actor Jim Carrey playing the part of Sonic’s nemesis, Dr. Robotnik.

However, the trailer currently has over 392,000 dislikes (and counting) – which is more than the total of ‘likes’ – which illustrates just how disgusted the fans are with it. Just read the comment section and you’ll agree too.

The director of the film, Jeff Fowler, has confirmed the look of Sonic will be altered to appease angered fans.

I don’t think they are angered as much as they are mortified by how ugly Sonic looks.

The film stars Ben Schwartz as the voice of Sonic the Hedgehog and Jim Carrey as Sonic’s nemesis Doctor Robotnik, alongside James Marsden, Tika Sumpter, Adam Pally, and Neal McDonough. In the film, a small-town sheriff assists Sonic as he attempts to escape the government.

Sonic the Hedgehog will premiere on Nov. 8, 2019. That gives them a little time to back him less nightmarish looking.
