A New Nightmarish Trailer For “Scary Stories To Tell In The Dark Is Here!”

You don’t read the books. The books read you.

Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark is an upcoming American horror film produced by CBS Films, Entertainment One, 1212 Entertainment, Double Dare You Productions, and Sean Daniel Productions distributed by Lionsgate. The film is directed by André Øvredal, from a script co-written by Dan and Kevin Hageman, and a screen story by Guillermo del Toro. It is based on the children’s book series of the same name by Alvin Schwartz. It stars Zoe Colletti, Michael Garza, Austin Abrams, Gabriel Rush, Austin Zajur, Natalie Ganzhorn, and Dean Norris.

“It’s 1968 in America. Change is blowing in the wind…but seemingly far removed from the unrest in the cities is the small town of Mill Valley where for generations, the shadow of the Bellows family has loomed large. It is in their mansion on the edge of town that Sarah, a young girl with horrible secrets, turned her tortured life into a series of scary stories, written in a book that has transcended time—stories that have a way of becoming all too real for a group of teenagers who discover Sarah’s terrifying tome.”

The film is set to be released on August 9, 2019, by Lionsgate and CBS Films.
