The second season of DC Universe’s Titans is in production for its second and they have cast a key member of the team:
Australian actor Joshua Orpin has been cast in the role and will be a season regular. The “Titans” version of Superboy is described as the angsty Teenager of Steel searching for purpose and the truth about his past. While looking for answers, he crashes into the world of the Titans and finds an unlikely home and surrogate family as well as revelations that carry more complications than he ever bargained for.
Orpin will be playing Conner Kent, the second DC Comics character called Superboy. Created by Karl Kesel and Tom Grummett as part of DC’s 1992-1993 “The Death of Superman” crossover event, Conner is a clone intended to fill the void left by the apparent death of the Man of Steel.
“Titans” was the flagship series for the DC Comics-branded streaming service, which launched last August. The service’s second series, “Doom Patrol,” debuted earlier this month as DC Universe plans an expansive roster of TV shows based on fellow DC Comics characters including Stargirl, Swamp Thing and Harley Quinn.
As the first DC Universe series, “Titans” was a polarizing series that depicted a dark and very mature take on the young heroes. It’s use of mature content was off-putting for some fans but was heralded by others.
