In an emotional address to the WWE Universe, The Big Dog, Roman Reigns, revealed he is back in WWE after his battle with leukemia.
About four months ago, the polarizing WWE Superstar had to relinquish his Universal Title Belt. The fans welcomed him back with a standing ovation. Roman chants and Welcome back chants filled the arena. Reigns, whose real name is Joe Anoa’i, thanked the fans for their prayers and best wishes.
He then announced his leukemia was in remission.
“I said I was going to swing for the fences. We did better than that, ya’ll. We didn’t just swing for the fences. We hit a home run. So when I tell you this, I’m so grateful and so humbled and so honored to announce this,” Reigns revealed. “So with that said, The Big Dog is back!”
Reigns didn’t mention a return date, despite fans chanting for Wrestlemania. Former tag team partner, Seth Rollins met him on the entrance ramp as walked backstage. Later that night the two saved former SHIELD tag team partner Dean Ambrose from a beat down by four men. A little SHIELD reunion had fans standing to their feet. Check it out below:
