We have stayed away from the Jussie Smollett story because we kept hearing conflicting reports about the attack. He was. He wasn’t. He lied. He didn’t. Now we have actually footage, real footage of the attack from a trusted source. Check it out below:
Okay, that was actually a clip from Family Guy, but it pretty much that same as the exaggerated story Smollett gave to the police. The actor claimed he was brutally beat, dragged by a noose, covered in bleach, called homophonic and racial slurs, oh and did I mention it was also said the two men were President Trump supporters???
So after that horrifying ordeal this was the picture released post the “brutal” beat down:
A scratch. This guy looks like he was slapped by a kitten. The truth then was revealed, FINALLY. He lied. Smollett made up the story and paid two men to stage a fake incident to try and gain sympathy and popularity by exploiting a hot button issue.
Per The Guardian:
Smollett “took advantage of the pain and anger of racism to promote his career”, Chicago police superintendent Eddie Johnson said at a press conference on Thursday morning, shortly after Smollett was arrested. “This publicity stunt was a scar that Chicago didn’t earn and certainly didn’t deserve,” Johnson later added.
Johnson said Smollett paid two men $3,500 to stage the attack, and also sent a racist and homophobic threatening letter to himself at the Fox studio lot in Chicago, where Empire is filmed.
The actor, who is gay, handed himself into police on Thursday morning after he was charged with felony disorderly conduct on Wednesday for making a false police report. The charge could bring up to three years in prison. It could also force Smollett to pay for the cost of the investigation into his report.
Smollett is expected to appear in court later on Thursday.
In less than a month, Smollett went from receiving an outpouring of support for being the apparent victim of a hate crime, to being accused of fabricating the entire scenario.
Initial reports of the assault drew outrage and support for him on social media, including from California senator Kamala Harris and the TV talkshow host Ellen DeGeneres. Trump tweeted to Smollet on Thursday: “what about MAGA and the tens of millions of people you insulted with your racist and dangerous comments!?”
It’s a selfish act that doesn’t just hurt him but it also now hurts actual victims of hate crimes who now will be called into question if they try to go public.
Smollett is the worst kind of piece of shit human. He deserves the most severe penalty thrown his way and I hope he never works in Hollywood again.
