SYFY’s “Nightflyers” Is Canceled After One Season

George R.R. Martin’s Nightflyers Canceled After One Season At Syfy. The Syfy psychological thriller series Nightflyers has been canceled after one season. The show was based on a novella penned by author Martin (best known for his international sensation Game of Thrones) and only ran for a brief ten episodes.

The show followed a team of scientists embarking on a journey into space aboard an advanced ship called the Nightflyer to make first contact with alien life-forms. However, when terrifying and violent events occur, the team begins to question each other and to realize there is something on-board the Nightflyer with them. It’s up to the crew to save the ship and themselves.

Low ratings killed the series. The show followed more in tune with the 1987 film more so than the Martin book.

At least we still have Game of Thrones…
