Sasha Banks & Bayley Make History; Become First WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions

Last night’s WWE’s Elimination Chamber crowned the company’s first ever WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions!

Superstars Sasha Banks and Bayley fought off an onslaught of other female tag team duos to become the tag team champions. The pair beat out Sonya Deville and Mandy Rose, Nia Jax and Tamina, The Riott Squad’s Liv Morgan and Sarah Logan, The IIconics, and Naomi and Carmella in an elimination-style match to win the inaugural titles.

The historic win is the latest in a series of firsts from the trailblazing duo. Back in 2014, Bayley and Banks broke ground when they competed in the first-ever 30-minute Iron Woman match in the main event of NXT TakeOver: Respect. They also fought in the inaugural women’s battle royal at the Royal Rumble in 2018 as well as the first-ever all-women pay per view Evolution later that year.

They have been friends, rivals, and now tag team champions. The sky is the limit for the Boss & Hug Connection.
