Godzilla King Of The Monsters Film Celebrates The Chinese New Year

Godzilla King Of The Monsters hype machine is picking up steam again after being dormant for a few weeks. The film’s Kaiju or Titans (as KotM refers to them) are celebrating the Chinese New Year in style.

Kaiju fan site Gormaru brought the poster series to our attention. They note: “Each monster is stated to gift a representing strength or blessing to individuals celebrating the new year.”

The sequel takes place five years after the events in the first film…

“When these ancient super-species—thought to be mere myths—rise again, they all vie for supremacy, leaving humanity’s very existence hanging in the balance.”

The film stars Kyle Chandler, Vera Farmiga, Millie Bobby Brown, Bradley Whitford, Sally Hawkins, Charles Dance, Thomas Middleditch, Aisha Hinds, O’Shea Jackson Jr., David Strathairn, Ken Watanabe, and Zhang Ziyi.

Godzilla: King of the Monsters is scheduled to be released on May 31, 2019, in 2D, 3D, Dolby Cinema and IMAX by Warner Bros. Pictures.
