DC Universe’s upcoming original series, Stargirl, continues to add to its cast.
According to a recent report from Deadline, actors Meg DeLacy and Jake Austin Walker have joined the cast of the upcoming Stargirl series. While Jake Austin Walker’s role is currently undisclosed, the report states that DeLacy will join the DC series as the character of Cindy Burman, whose character is secretly the daughter of Nelson Lee’s Dragon King, a longtime foe of the Justice Society of America. Cindy, per tradition, will follow in her father’s footsteps.
DeLacy is known for her role as Grace on The Fosters. Walker has appeared on Fear The Walking Dead and Lethal Weapon.
Stargirl follows high school sophomore Courtney Whitmore as she inspires an unlikely group of young heroes to stop the villains of the past. This new drama reimagines the very first superhero team in comics, the Justice Society of America, in an unpredictable series. Executive producer Geoff Johns launched his career as a comic book writer with the 1999 creation of Stargirl, who he lovingly dedicated to his sister, who died in a 1996 plane explosion. Greg Berlanti will oversee the series that takes place in the shared universe with Doom Patrol and Titans.
Stargirl is expected to debut on the DC Universe streaming service later this year.
