Luke Wilson Joins DC Universe’s Star Girl

Actor Luke Wilson has signed on to join the cast DC Universe’s Star Girl Series.

Wilson stars as Stripe pilot Pat Dugan. Stripe, by the way, is a 15-foot robot created by the mechanic-turned-superhero.

Here’s the official description for Wilson’s character: Pat Dugan once went by the less-than-inspired superhero name of Stripesy, sidekick to a young hero known as The Star-Spangled Kid and later Starman of the legendary Justice Society of America. Today, Pat has left his sidekick life behind him. But when his new step-daughter, Courtney Whitmore, discovers Pat’s secret past and takes on Starman’s legacy to become Stargirl, Pat is forced to come out of retirement and once again become a sidekick — to his step-daughter — this time piloting a 15-foot robot called Stripe.

Premiering later this year, the 13-episode series tells the story of Courtney Whitmore (played by Bella and the BulldogsBrec Bassinger), a high school sophomore who inspires an unlikely group of young heroes, the Justice Society of America, to stop the villains of the past.

Stargirl’s cast also includes Lou Ferrigno Jr. (S.W.A.T.) as Golden Age Hourman, Henry Thomas (The Haunting of Hill House) as Dr. Mid-Nite and Joel McHale (Community) as StarmanYvette Monreal (Faking It), Christopher James Baker (True Detective) and Anjelika Washington (Young Sheldon) will also appear in undisclosed roles.
