HipZOMJoint Movie Review: Spider-Man Into The Spider-Verse

Not since Batman Mask of the Phantasm has there been such a powerful and well made animated superhero film based on an established character.

Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse isn’t just great, it’s a game changer. The animation is a blend of CGI and hand drawn art. Each scene looks as though it was left right out of the comics.

The blend of static neon colors and pulsating hip-hop tunes creates a visual and audio treat for moviegoers.

Hailee Steinfeld, Mahershala Ali, Brian Tyree Henry, Lily Tomlin, Luna Lauren Velez, John Mulaney, Nicolas Cage, and Liev Schreiber are pitch perfect in their respective roles. However, it’s the student/ teacher bond between Jake Johnson’s Peter Parker and Shameik Moore’s Miles Morales that really makes the film. Johnson is an older Parker who is divorced, fatter, and kind of a slob. While Moore’s Morales is a wide-eyed kid who is trying to come to terms with his new powers.

The film is filled with Spider-Man Easter eggs and a heartwarming Stan Lee cameo.

This is the Spider-Man film that will have fans talking for years to come. With that said HipsterZOMBIEJoint gives Spider-Man Into The Spider-Verse a 9 out of 10. Highly recommended!
