Viral Marketing Begins For The Child’s Play Reboot

The holiday season is here and Orion Studios who is behind the new Child’s Play reboot is making the most of it. Despite not coming out until Summer of 2019, a viral marketing Campaign has begun in the form of a website offering to give people Pre-orders on the new “Buddi” doll. The site goes into detail about all the features the new Buddi doll has to offer. For instance, it’s got cloud-based voice recognition, the ability to understand the tone and inflection of the person it’s listening to, spatial awareness, and is apparently bi-lingual in both English and Spanish. 

Additionally, several mobile wallpapers have been released, each of which can be seen below. While playful in nature, there is undoubtedly something sinister and malevolent about each one…

Directed by Lars Klevberg and based on a script by Tyler Burton Smith, Child’s Play stars Aubrey Plaza, Brian Tyree Henry, and Gabriel Bateman.

The film arrives in theaters June 21st, 2019.
