HipZOMJoint Movie Review: A Star is Born

The music in director Bradley Cooper’s ”A Start Is Born” is undeniably powerful and worthy of an Oscar. The rest of the film, however, is a mixed bag. It’s a real shame because Cooper and co-star Lady Gaga have really great chemistry. The fault with the movie is the pacing and editing.

Scenes don’t get time to breathe and most of the film moves at a frantic pace. Famous Guy meets girl, falls for girl, brings girl out on his tour, she becomes more famous, oh wait Famous Guy is an alcoholic who now resents her. The film barely scratches the surface of its two leads.

Gaga and Cooper give very powerful performances but you never fully connect with either. You see the two’s journey from a distance rather than being on it with them.

As stated earlier the music is phenomenal. Gaga once again showcases why she is one of the premiere talents of today. Cooper also shines with his musical ability.

With that said HipsterZOMBIEJoint gives A Star Is Born a 6.5 out of 10.
