HipZOMJoint Movie Pick Of The Week 11/02/18: Bohemian Rhapsody

The biopic for one of the most iconic rock bands in music history fronted by arguably the greatest frontman hits the big screen today! Bohemian Rhapsody tells the story of Queen and Freddie Mercury rise to fame and glory.

The film has been gestating in Hollywood for years. At one point Sacha Baron Cohen was set to portray Mercury but ultimately left due to creative differences. Then, when FOX hired director Bryan Singer to helm the film, the troubled director left the project due to multiple personal reasons.

However, despite all those hurdles the film is garnering massive critical praise for the film’s direction and Rami Malek’s spot on portrayal of Mercury. The film also stars Lucy Boynton, Gwilym Lee, Ben Hardy, Joseph Mazzello, Aidan Gillen, Tom Hollander, Allen Leech and Mike Myers in supporting roles. Queen members Brian May and Roger Taylor served as creative consultants of the film. May and Taylor even re-recorded some of the music for the film.

Bohemian Rhapsody is now playing at a theater near you.
