The Big Bang Theory’s Kaley Cuoco will voice the titular comic book character in the upcoming DC Universe animated series.
Per The Hollywood Reporter:
DC Universe has assembled a star-studded voice cast for its forthcoming Harley Quinn animated series.
Big Bang Theory star Kaley Cuoco will take on the title role in the 26-episode animated series that is due to launch in 2019. Cuoco, who is currently in production on the 12th and final season of CBS’ The Big Bang Theory, will also serve as an executive producer on the animated comedy via her Warner Bros. TV-based Yes, Norman Productions banner. Cuoco made the announcement Wednesday as part of the world premiere screening of DC Universe’s Titans at New York Comic Con.
The voice cast also includes Lake Bell (Wet Hot American Summer), Alan Tudyk (Rogue One: A Star Wars Story), Ron Funches (Powerless), JB Smoove (Curb Your Enthusiasm), Jason Alexander (Seinfeld), Wanda Sykes (Black-ish), Giancarlo Esposito (Breaking Bad), Natalie Morales (Bojack Horseman), Jim Rash (Community), Diedrich Bader (Veep), Tony Hale (Veep) and Chris Meloni (Law & Order: Special Victims Unit). Details about which character(s) the rest of the cast will voice were not immediately available.
The series, described as an adult animated action-comedy, follows Harley as she breaks things off with the Joker and attempts to make it on her own as the criminal “queenpin” of Gotham City. The comedy will also feature Poison Ivy and a cast of heroes and villains — old and new — from the DC universe.
DC Universe launched Sept. 15. The subscription service provides a mix of scripted originals as well as access to DC-themed TV, film and comic books. A premiere date for Harley Quinn has not yet been determined.
