Actress Kate Beckinsale is retiring her fangs. Beckinsale, who got her big break in the Len Wiseman directed Underworld, told Variety recently that she wouldn’t return for any sequels stating she had done enough of them.
Underworld is a series of action horror films created by Len Wiseman, Kevin Grevioux and Danny McBride. The first film, Underworld, was released in 2003. It tells the story of Selene(Kate Beckinsale), a vampire who works as a Death Dealer, killing the lycans who allegedly slaughtered her family.
Another reason for her departure from the franchise might be because of her ex, Len Wiseman. They got married while working on the franchise but are no longer together. Beckinsale has stated she prefers working on small indie films than big action spectacles. She describes working on big films can result in a miserable time.
As for Underworld, Wiseman had mentioned he was working on a television series. However he has since moved on to DC Universe’s Swamp Thing series.
