If you were a kid growing up in the early mid 80s to early 90s there a good chance you read writer Alvin Schwartz’s “Scary Stories To Tell In The Dark.” Now the popular book series is being turned into a film.
Directed by André Øvredal, from a script co-written by Guillermo del Toro, Marcus Dunstan, Patrick Melton, John August, Dan Hageman and Kevin Hageman.
The film centers around a group of young teens attempt to solve a mystery that involves a series of spectacularly horrific deaths in their small hometown.
Young actress Zoe Colletti (Annie) was the first name to be announced from the ensemble, with the full cast now including Michael Garza (Wayward Pines, The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 1), Austin Abrams (Brad’s Status, The Americans), Gabriel Rush (Moonrise Kingdom, The Grand Budapest Hotel), Austin Zajur (Fist Fight, Kidding), and Natalie Ganzhorn (Make it Pop, Wet Bum).
“Scary Stories To Tell In The Dark” is currently set to release in 2019.
