John Cho (Star Trek) stars in a Searching, a film in which a father is desperate to find his daughter through the only place people have never looked, her laptop.
The film is directed by Aneesh Chaganty. Searching is shot from the point-of-view of smartphones and computer screens. The film is about a father trying to find his missing 16-year-old daughter and stars Cho along with Debra Messing. It is the first mainstream thriller headlined by an Asian-American actor in Hollywood. The movie premiered at the Sundance Film Festival where it garnered a lot of praise. It currently holds a 90% Rotten Tomatoes rating.
Cho got his start as a comedic actor in films like Harold & Kumar Go To White Castle. Seeing him play such a dramatic role in Searching is very intriguing.
