Cast of “Wonder Woman 1984” embraces the 80s in new cast photo

Director Patty Jenkins and Gal Gadot are getting their fellow cast members in the 80′ spirit with this fun new cast photo.

The image is, of course, a homage to the classic teen 80’s comedy The Breakfast Club. Check out the original film poster below to compare:

Wonder Woman 1984 (also stylized as WW84) is an upcoming American superhero film based on the DC Comics character Wonder Woman. It is intended to be the sequel to 2017’s Wonder Woman and the eighth installment in the DC Extended Universe (DCEU). The film is directed by Patty Jenkins and written by Jenkins, Geoff Johns, and David Callaham, from a story written by Johns and Jenkins. It stars Gal Gadot in the title role, with Chris Pine and Kristen Wiig in supporting roles. It is the fourth live-action theatrical film featuring the titular character, following Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice (2016), Wonder Woman (2017), and Justice League (2017), and will be the second full-length feature film centered around the character.

The sequel centers on Diana Prince coming into conflict with the Soviet Union during the Cold War in the 1980s and finds a formidable foe in the form of the Cheetah.

Wonder Woman 1984 is set to be released by Warner Bros. Pictures in Real D 3D and IMAX 3D on November 1, 2019.
