Godzilla King of the Monsters news tidbits

At San Diego Comic-Con 2018 during the Godzilla King of the Monsters panel, not only did we get some interesting news tidbits as well as a gorgeous Comic-Con exclusive poster as shown above.

A few interesting tidbits from the panel revealed by director Michael Dougherty is that there is a possibility even more classic Godzilla monsters will be making a cameo in the film. Speaking of cameos an unspecified character from Kong Skull Island is also said to make an appearance (most likely in a post credits scene) to help connect Kong to Godzilla for the two monster’s crossover film.

Finally when a fan in the audience asked Dougherty if any of Akira Ifukube’s music would be used in the upcoming film the director said not only will Godzilla’s theme finally be used in his film, other monster themes will be incorporated as well. In case you are unfamiliar with Ifukube’s music check out the his Godzilla theme below:

Ifukube’s Godzilla theme is as iconic as the giant lizard’s roar or fire breath. Knowing he will finally have his theme instantly instills a level of faith in fans knowing that a fellow fan is guiding the film. The Walking Dead’s Bear McCreary will be handling the score for the film.

Godzilla King of the Monsters stomps into theaters May 2019.
