Avengers star Jeremy Renner is reportedly being considering for a leading role in the upcoming Spawn reboot.
The Todd McFarland directed film starring Jamie Foxx the demonic anti-hero, Spawn, is rumored to be looking at Renner as the possible star of the film. Renner would be portraying Twitch Williams. Twitch is an honest detective who teams up with Spawn avenge the death of his daughter.
McFarlane, who created Spawn and will direct and produce the adaptation from his own script, has openly stated that he intends to keep casting quiet. We’ll see how this all pans out.
Foxx will star as the title character, an elite mercenary (Al Simmons) who is killed but comes back from Hell as a reluctant soldier of the Devil.
Backed by Blumhouse, this iteration of Spawn will focus more on the horror aspects of the character than the superheroics that the 1997 film tried (and failed) to depict.
No release date for the film has been set.
