Did FOX scrap X-Men Dark Phoenix?

Rumors have been running rampant that the upcoming X-Film, Dark Phoenix, is getting scrapped. The film had been pushed back to 2019 and had to go through Justice League level reshoots to fix a third act of the film that was not scoring well with test audiences.

FOX has however assured fans that despite the Disney buyout, X-Men Dark Phoenix will indeed come out in theaters in 2019.

The potential tie in to the Marvel Cinematic Universe with the alien race known as the Skrulls (who will also be appearing in 2019’s Captain Marvel) have all but been debunked. The new popular rumor is that Dark Phoenix will end the “First Class” series of X-Men films and that Disney will reboot the franchise sometime in the future.

With the purchase of FOX, Disney has now acquired the rights to elusive X-Men, Fantastic Four, Deadpool, and all of the franchise’s supporting characters.

X-Men: Dark Phoenix is still scheduled to hit theaters in February 2019, as of this writing.
