E3 2018 has unveiled the first look trailer for the highly anticipated Resident Evil 2 Remake.
Resident Evil 2, known as Biohazard 2 (バイオハザード2, Baiohazādo Tsū?) in Japan, is a game currently in development by Capcom. It is a remake of the 1998 game of the same name. The game was officially announced on August 12, 2015, several weeks after Yoshiaki Hirabayashi, under the name “H”, asked people following the official Resident Evil Facebook page what their thoughts were on the matter, then relaying his findings to Capcom’s R&D Division 1.
Capcom’s remake of Resident Evil 2 is coming to PlayStation 4, Windows PC and Xbox One on Jan. 25, 2019. The game will cost $59.99.
The remake of Resident Evil 2 will trade the fixed cameras of the original game for a third-person over-the-shoulder view, similar to more recent Resident Evil games — with the exception of Resident Evil 7, which introduced a first-person view. Players will still be able to play as both Claire Redfield and Leon Kennedy as they explore a zombie-infested Raccoon City.
