Paramount is bringing in Fate Of The Furious’ Director F. Gary Gray for the big screen adaptation of the 80s cartoon series “MASK.”
MASK is an acronym for Mobile Armored Strike Kommand, a task force led by Matt Trakker whose goal is to take out the criminal organization VENOM. The film will be produced by Hasbro, and Gray. They will move quickly to set a writer to hatch a contemporary subculture movie with a youth empowerment angle.
Gray’s Fast and Furious installment grossed $1.2 billion worldwide last year, and the director will next tackle Sony’s Men in Black reboot, which is set to star Chris Hemsworth and Tessa Thompson and is slated for a July 2019 launch.
No date has been set for the M.A.S.K. movie, one of multiple Hasbro properties that Paramount is developing for the big screen for a potential shared universe with Transformers, ROM, and G.I. JOE.
