Deadpool 2 debuts its NSFW Final Red-Band Trailer.

Ryan Reynolds is back as the Merc with the mouth, Deadpool, in the follow-up Deadpool 2. Deadpool must assemble a force, an X-Force, to protect a child from the time traveling no-nonsense mutant soldier, Cable (Josh Brolin). The film is directed by David Leitch from a script by Rhett ReesePaul Wernick, and Ryan Reynolds, with Reynolds starring in the title role alongside Josh BrolinMorena BaccarinJulian DennisonZazie BeetzT.J. MillerBrianna HildebrandJack Kesy, and Stefan Kapičić.

Created by artist/writer Rob Liefeld and writer Fabian Nicieza, Deadpool made his first appearance in the pages of The New Mutants #98. According to Nicieza, Liefeld came up with the character’s visual design and name, and Nicieza himself came up with the character’s speech mannerisms. Liefeld, a fan of the Teen Titans comics, showed his new character to then-writer Fabian Nicieza. Upon seeing the costume and noting his characteristics (killer with super agility), Nicieza contacted Liefeld, saying “this is Deathstroke from Teen Titans“. Nicieza gave Deadpool the real name of “Wade Wilson” as an inside-joke to being “related” to “Slade Wilson”, Deathstroke.

Deadpool 2 will be the first cinematic reveal of classic X-Men characters such as Domino, Shatterstar, Bedlam, and possibly other mutant cameos. The original Deadpool film saw the title character teaming up with X-Men Colossus and Negasonic Teenage Warhead.

Here is the ridiculous synopsis of Deadpool 2 (by Deadpool himself)

After surviving a near-fatal knee boarding accident, a disfigured guidance counselor (Wade Wilson) struggles to fulfill his dream of becoming Poughkeepsie’s most celebrated French Bulldog breeder while also learning to cope with an open relationship. Searching to regain his passion for life, as well as a new stuffed unicorn, Wade must battle ninjas, tight assed metal men, and babysit a group of stereotypical side characters as he journeys around the world to discover the importance of family, friendship, and creative outlets for his very open-minded sex life. He manages to find a new lust for being a do-gooder, a sparkly Hello Kitty backpack, all while earning the coveted coffee mug title of World’s Best 4th Wall Breaking Superhero.

The final trailer begins with the newly formed X-Force aboard a helicopter with Deadpool (in a voiceover) explaining the mission to his team. They must intercept a convoy and watch out for the deadly mutant soldier, Cable.

The trailer then descends into an array of footage with Deadpool explaining the plot of the film. A child who is unable to control his mutant powers is being hunted by a time-traveling mutant named Cable, who Deadpool lovingly calls “Thanos” (the actor portraying Cable, Josh Brolin, also plays the part of Thanos in Avengers Infinity War)

When Deadpool reveals that he can’t take on Cable by himself, he enlists the aid of an assortment of mutants via an ad on Linkedin. With his best friend, Weasel (T.J. Miller) they interview mutants Bedlam (Terry Crews), Shatterstar (Lewis Tan),  and Domino (Zazie Beetz).

The trailer descends into a flurry of action scenes to the beat of LL Cool J’s “Momma Said Knock You Out.” In a scene reminiscent of Warner Bros’ Batman v. Superman Cable gruffly declares Deadpool isn’t a hero but a rather a clown dressed up as a sex toy. Deadpool retorts that Cable is so dark and asks if he is from the DC Universe. (a jab at the now-defunct Zack Snyder DC Films that wanted to have all of their heroes showcased as dark and gritty.)

Deadpool and Cable have a standoff while aboard a runaway convoy. Gun vs. sword that ends with Deadpool covered with bullet holes. The trailer ends with Weasel and Deadpool interviewing one last candidate for their X-Force. An unassuming, nerdy middle-aged man named Peter with no powers. Deadpool instantly hires him. The scene cuts to Peter parachuting into the fray with X-Force.

Deadpool 2 arrives in theaters May 18th, 2018.
