American Idol Reboot Is A Ratings Bomb

Maybe it’s the judges. Maybe it’s the Seacrest scandal. Or maybe rival singing contest show The Voice just does it better.

Whatever it is American Idol rebooted Sunday night on ABC to its lowest ratings ever. Granted its on a new network and did well for its time slot. But the rating juggernaut that used to be American Idol is now just a shell of its former self.

It did, however, post good numbers, good enough to be noticed. Not good enough to have other shows looking over their shoulders. It will be interesting to see in coming weeks if Idol can maintain the audience they have or if the curiosity factor will quickly fade away.
