Skydance Productions has found their leading lady for Terminator 6, with Mackenzie Davis entering negotiations to star alongside Arnold Schwarzenegger, who returns as the T-800 Terminator. While no specific details were given for Mackenzie Davis, the actress is said to be one of the “new faces” of the reboot, in the same vein as Linda Hamilton’s Sarah Connor character from 1984’s The Terminator and 1991’s Terminator 2: Judgment Day. The actress was said to be the studio’s top choice for quite some time now, but the casting needed to be signed off on by producer James Cameron, who is currently filming his Avatar sequels.
Linda Hamilton will be back as Sarah Connor, with the actress describing her character as a “seasoned warrior” when her casting was confirmed in September. While it was revealed that Sarah Connor died in Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines, with Emilia Clarke later playing the character in the disappointing flop Terminator Genisys, this movie will be a direct sequel to Terminator 2, ignoring the events of 2003’s Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines, 2009’s Terminator Salvation and 2015’s Terminator: Genisys. With all that being said, there is still no further details on how Mackenzie Davis’ character may fit into this story.
Are you excited for another Terminator reboot, or should this franchise just stop and go away?
