Josh Stewart (Shooter), Floriana Lima (Supergirl) and Giorgia Whigham (Scream) have been cast as regulars for the second season of Marvel’s The Punisher on Netflix.
Stewart will portray John Pilgrim, a man with a calm and collected exterior that hides a ruthless soul that dwells within. Despite a history of violence, Pilgram’s path will force him into a direct collision course with Frank Castle in season two.
Lima is set to play a military veteran psychotherapist. Whigham will play Amy Bendix a mysterious street-smart drifter.
Executive Producer and Head of Marvel Television, Jeph Loeb, had this to say regarding the casting:
“Josh, Floriana and Giorgia are all remarkable talents and we can’t wait for the audience to see what we have in store for them in the second season of Marvel’s The Punisher.”
Jon Bernthal returns as The Punisher along with season one’s Ben Barnes as Billy Russo, Amber Rose Revah as Dinah Madani, and Jason R. Moore as Curtis Hoyle.
Marvel’s The Punisher, or simply The Punisher, is an American television series created for Netflix by Steve Lightfoot, based on the Marvel Comics character of the same name.
It is set in the Marvel Cinematic Universe(MCU), sharing continuity with the films and other television series of the franchise, and is a spin-off of Marvel’s Daredevil. The series is produced by Marvel Television in association with ABC Studios and Bohemian Risk Productions, with Lightfoot serving as showrunner.
Marvel’s ultra-violent series, The Punisher, was a smash hit with hardcore fans. Jon Bernthal was a revelation as the gun-toting vigilante who was first introduced in Daredevil Season 2. After Castle’s family is gunned down by cowardly criminals, Castle goes on a one-man crusade against crime as a judge, jury, and executioner. This usually puts him at odds with the community of heroes within the Marvel Universe.
All 13 episodes of the first season of The Punisher are currently streaming on Netflix. Season two does not currently have a release date.
